Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at ange@saltyswims.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

I’m often asked what swim kit I would recommend, I’ve gone through enough now to know what I consider to be the best here it is, a little kit list.

A Cornwall Swim Company C.S.C  dry robe- I’ve tried a few and the lining to these are beautifully soft and don’t itch, price is good as well and you’ll be supporting a local business, win win as far as I’m concerned https://www.facebook.com/Corn.Swim.Co

Zoggs Predator Goggles - not so small they suck your eyeballs out but not to big they drown your face, comfy, easy to adjust and in a proper girly way I like the colours Zoggs Unisex's Predator goggleshttps://amzn.to/3hsgaDG

Swim caps- bright durable and easy to get on, remember yellow and green hats are the best  hats to get you seen by other sea users (and hopefully never) a rescuer if you need one. Avoid orange and red or black as you’ll look like a buoy or a seal

Yellow  Swim Cap https://amzn.to/3O4CbVC

Swim Secure donut tow float- top loading makes it easy accessible if you have stuff in it. Good practice is to keep a rescue whistle, a phone, camera and I keep a diving knife as well. Again it makes you easy to spot if you ever get into trouble and need help. Secure Buoy Swimming Waterproof Donut (Open Water and Triathletes Swimmers) https://amzn.to/3GbD3FW . However the yellow and green ones have proven to be the most visible. A cheap but practical float is https://amzn.to/3EpFQKmSwim

A Big bag… this bag fits every swim thing I  need in including my dry robe and inflated float https://amzn.to/3VApYuhA

Waterproof poncho- This must be one of my favourite products it’s versatile and waterproof… I have yet to make a tent out of it so I’m not vouching for that part! TOMSHOO Rain Poncho, Raincoat, Waterproof Camping Tent, Tarpaulin, 3-in-1 Multifunctional rain Cover for Hunting, Camping, Hiking and Cycling https://amzn.eu/d/boT4zsT

A onesie, I swore I never would but it’s a good one! Thumb holes in the cuff, and extra long 2 way YKK zip with zip pulls Phone / MP3 pocket inside the pouch pocket, with cable guides. Front Kangaroo pocket and 2 side pockets with zips. Drawstring hood to complete the look. Perfect!!

Gloves and Socks- I always wore 2 pairs of both in my first year. PAWHITS Wetsuit Gloves 3mm Neoprene Gloves Thermal Anti-slip Diving Gloves for Men Women https://amzn.to/3UwCgDNSwimCell

Swimming Socks For Women and Men Bare Foot Feel Light Weight, Soft Low Cut Socks - Lighter Than Beach and Water Shoes. Anti Slip Thin Rubber Sole for Protection. 1mm Thickness Water Socks.https://amzn.to/3WYSw24Deal: PAWHITS Wetsuit Socks 3mm Neoprene Socks Thermal Anti-slip Diving Socks for Men Women Diving Snorkeling Swimming Surfing Sailing Kayaking https://amzn.to/3UwBUNtLovely

Fur lined boots, beautifully warm DREAM PAIRS Women's DP-Canada Red... https://amzn.to/3hs5DbATraining

Fins- to improve foot and leg technique https://amzn.to/3G7mn2g

Other brands are of course available just personal choice after a lot of experience and money on lesser quality stuff Happy swimming, stay safe!
