We have found there are a few obstacles for people attending the swims. One is coming along to something completely new the other is meeting lots of new people. We’re trying to take one of those away by running some community coffee mornings. All welcome!

Part of swimming in the sea is Cold Water Therapy this is very much focused on mental health and well-being. Cold-Water Therapy is a branch of cryotherapy and its aim is to improve your health. In our sessions, we get into the sea and the cold water is used to stimulate the body’s responses and aid recovery. We practice dynamic breathing techniques and that, with the cold water immersion, will help your mind and body reset. Cold Water Therapy has been around for hundreds of years. Somehow in modern day life we’ve forgotten the benefits that being outside and engaging with the natural world brings. With a background in Complementary Therapies and extensive mental health experience, I wanted to be able to incorporate that into my coaching and swimming life. In our session we focus on the health benefits of cold water, We will aim to build confidence, improve mood, reduce stress and we focus on positive moves forward.
There is a growing bank of evidence that indicates cold water immersion improves your health, gives you a natural high, reduces stress, increases your libido, burns calories and recent studies show an improvement in mood for people experiencing depression.
